Erard Grecian

A fully restored Erard Grecian. This Erard Grecian has has a new neck and soundboard fitted. The decorations have been repaired and the whole harp has been completely re-gilded. In addition to this the brass work has been re-polished and lacquered, making it look as good as new.

Erard Grecian

A close up of a restored Erard Grecian. The decorations have been repaired and re-guilded. The mechanism has also been fully rebuilt and polished.

Cousineau

The column of this harp had completely broken in half. The decorative carvings on the column meant that the repair was not straightforward.

Grecian Pedal Box

A completely new pedal box for an Erard Grecian. This pedal box was built just like the original, using only solid timber, no man made boards (ply wood). All decorations are new and have been guilt with a combination of oil gilding and water gilding.

Lyon and Healy soundboard.

New soundboard fitted to a Lyon and Healy style 85. Decorations reproduced by hand using gold leaf and paint.

Erard Gothic soundboard.

New soundboard fitted to an Erard Gothic.

Erard Grecian Decorated Sound Board.

This soundboard was decorated by hand using 23k gold leaf and paint. The design was based on an original 'birds of paradise' design which is found on some rare Grecians.

Salvi Mechanism repair.

Here is a Salvi mechanism/action undergoing some repair work. After repairing the internal links the harp was reassembled and had a full set up/service.

New Erard Grecian Neck

New neck built for an Erard Grecian retoration. We build our necks using the original construction methods. This may be more difficult and time consuming than using plywood, however we believe it is not only stronger but also, more importantly, it sounds better.
