Erard Louis xvi

Selling on behalf of a client.
Age: 1894
Comments:
Neo-classical 46 string concert harp made in Paris in 1894. The harp was later sold to the London Erard showroom in 1896 and then sold to a customer in 1900. It is a highly decorative and visually stunning instrument, in particular the carved scroll on top of the column. Recently serviced, with a new set of wire strings fitted, this harp is in a good playable condition. The soundboard was replaced in 1971 by Munson & Harbour, all other elements of the harp are original. The harp has a rich, warm sound with a fantastic bass. The harp was used by a professional harpist for many years in some of the UK's top orchestras. The harp is fully working/playable as it is or it would make a fabulous restoration project.
Due to the rare and exceptional nature of this harp, the owner is currently accepting offers rather than selling at a fixed price. Please submit your serious inquiries and offers directly to me via email, phone or the Contact page
